ATWATER TROPHY RACE RESULTS

The SS Class Association proudly congratulates Simon Gerson and Serena Gerson on their victory in the 2026 Atwater Trophy Regatta.

Hosted on Saturday, August 15, on Moriches Bay, the regatta brought the fleet together for three exciting races. Under sunny skies, sailors enjoyed a consistent east to southeast breeze of approximately 8–11 mph and comfortable temperatures reaching 82 degrees. The favorable conditions made for a terrific day on the water, with close competition, spirited racing, and exemplary sportsmanship throughout the fleet.

Helen Horton, Pina Britton, Jim Hulme, and Aram Terchunian served as the Race Committee and did an outstanding job overseeing the day’s racing. Their contribution was instrumental in making the event a success.

The SS Class Association is deeply grateful to all of the competitors who contributed their enthusiasm, talent, and camaraderie to the regatta. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the volunteers, supporters, and race committee members whose generosity and dedication help preserve and strengthen the traditions of SS Class racing.
